What's Not Meant to be Seen
Exhibition by Raphael Holt
I curated and organised my own exhibition with photographs I had taken over the past two years, exploring the idea of what is not always seen. I displayed uncomfortably close portraits; used diptychs – two photographs placed next to each other – to encourage the viewer to create new meanings; digitally transformed photographs originally taken in day light to night; took images in the middle of the night using a long shutter speed and high ISO and photographs that were taken just after the flash bulb went off to reveal the in-between. Alongside the images I displayed text panels, a photo book and a behind the scene film.
